Eagle Scouts
Troop 221’s first Eagle Scout rank was awarded in 1947, since then the troop has had over 150 Eagle Scouts.

Campouts
Summer Camp is held Sunday through Saturday in the second week of July.
Monthly campouts are held Friday night through Sunday morning, every month from September through June. Weekends that campouts are held will vary.
Campouts include trips to historic landmarks such as Gettysburg, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. Other campouts include activities such as hiking in the Adirondacks, shooting sports, and canoeing.
Check the
calendar for upcoming campout dates.

Camp Ellis
The troop has been granted access to several private campsites over the years. Camp Ellis, a 25 acre tract in Vestal, was donated to the troop in memory of a member killed during World War II. This camp is used for teaching environmental conservation along with the basic camping skills.

Fundraisers
The troop holds various fundraisers throughout the year including pasta dinners, Boy Scout popcorn sales, and candy bar sales.
Each Scout earns a portion of the profits from popcorn and pasta dinner ticket sales and can use this money towards troop events such as monthly campouts, summer camp, high adventure or other camping expenses.
Proceeds from these fundraisers fund the operations of the Troop as well as high adventure trips, summer camp, and the Don Walker Campership Fund.
Other fundraisers may be held to offset the cost of high adventure trips.

Joining Fee
The Troop 221 joining fee includes:
  • Scout Handbook
